ShieldsUp Trail Mix Chocolate Clusters (sugar free)

ShieldsUp Trail Mix Chocolate Clusters

I've been loving my cups of ShieldsUp! "tea" (actually an herbal extract blend) each day to boost my immune system, but I also love a little treat to go with my tea. I decided to experiment a little and created these chocolate clusters by stirring some of the tea powder in the chocolate. I loved the result and hope you do too. If you aren't a tea lover you can still boost your immune system using the Linden Botanicals ShieldsUp! blend in recipes like this. Just don't heat your recipes to boiling as it diminishes the effectiveness of the extracts.

Besides boosting your immune system the Cistus Incanus extract contained in the kit has many other health benefits including helping to repel mosquitoes and ticks!

Each ShieldsUp! herbal extract kit contains 20 gram packets of 6 amazing super-botanicals:

  • Cistus incanus offers significant immune support and scientifically proven relief of cold and flu symptoms.

  • Rosa rugosa has vitamin C and other bioactives to enhance immune response and control inflammation.

  • Phyllanthus niruri balances the immune system. It is an antiviral, antimalarial and antibacterial.

  • Torilis japonica’s effective antiviral and antibacterial agents support healthy immune and inflammation response.

  • Laricifomes officinalis is traditionally used to enhance the immune system and protect against viral infections.

  • L-lysine is an amino acid that inhibits viral replication and blocks receptors involved in stress response.

I do not receive compensation for mentioning the ShieldsUp! kit or any Linden Botanicals products. I started drinking their Cistus Incanus tea when I received blood labs showing I had strongly reactivated Epstein Barr Virus and after drinking this tea my lab results showed my Epstein Barr level was so low it was undetectable! I just want to share my success with others in hopes these products can help you with your own health concerns. The company also has great customer service.

Now, back to the recipe.

ShieldsUp! Trail Mix Chocolate Clusters (sugar free)

40 gm (half a 2.8 oz. bar) Stevia sweetened chocolate or your favorite dark chocolate bar

3 gm (1/2 scoop/about 1-1/4 teaspoons) ShieldsUp powder

2 tbsp. unsweetened shredded coconut

2 tbsp. chopped walnuts or your favorite chopped nuts or pumpkin seeds

1 tbsp. unsweetened dried cherries or your favorite dried fruit, chopped, optional

Coarse unrefined sea salt, optional

In a small microwave safe container or small saucepan, melt chocolate at 50% power for 1 to 2 minutes, stirring several times just until melted or melt in a small saucepan over low heat, stirring just until melted.

Remove from heat. Whisk in ShieldsUp powder blend until thoroughly mixed. Stir in remaining ingredients. Drop onto wax paper or parchment paper, forming two clusters. If desired, sprinkle a pinch of sea salt on top. Chill until solid. Store in refrigerator.

Serves 1 (two clusters)

Makes one serving. Enjoy this treat with a hot cup of ShieldsUp tea using the other half of the scoop of powder. Recipe may be doubled.

I recommend using the stevia sweetened chocolate instead of chocolate containing sugar, especially if you are trying to fight a viral or bacterial infection. You can substitute your favorite 70% dark chocolate if sugar consumption is not an issue for you.
