Following a low carb or sugar free diet doesn't mean you can't enjoy a rich and creamy milkshake. Glucomannan powder is the secret ingredient to make this very creamy. 1 cup unsweetened almond milk or any unsweetened plant based milk 2/3 cup cold water 2 tbsp. unsweetened coffee creamer (I used nutpods original) 1 tbsp. almond butter 3/4 tsp. caramel flavored stevia drops (I used Vita-costs house brand) 1 tsp. brown sugar substitute (I used this brand), or to taste (optional) 1/2 tsp. glucomannan powder* (https://amzn.to/2tVhyTS) 1/4 + 1/8 tsp. unrefined sea salt or to taste (I used this brand) 14-16 ice cubes 1. In a blender container, combine almond milk, water, creamer, almond butter, caramel stevia and brown sugar substitute. Dust the top with glucomannan powder. Do not pour it onto the top in a clump or it will form unpleasant balls that won't dissolve. Add salt. Blend until smooth. Add ice cubes and blend until smooth. Add additional salt and brown sugar substitute, if desired. Pour into glasses and serve immediately. *The glucomannan powder adds a creamy mouth feel to the shake. It can be made without it, but won't be as creamy. Servings: 3 Yield: 24 ounces Nutrition Facts Serving size: 1/3 of the recipe. Nutrition information calculated from recipe ingredients.
